Women of 20th Century and Gender Equality

“A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman.” – Melinda Gates

I was in conversation with my sister, Avani and it followed with a series of tricky questions.

How do you project women of the 20th century with the earlier generation and is there a rat race between men & women? Who will win the race if there's the competition?

I took a moment and answered:

You belong to which century doesn't make a significant difference if we don't work on ourselves. If you really want to compare women of a different era and phases of life, the best example I can give you is of Mrs Sudha Murthy and Mrs Michelle Obama. Both did amazing work in their respective field and brought in some vision about the capability of women.✨

Now if we talk about the rat race there is no such race we should believe in. A relationship between man & women is like a "RELAY RACE" where we pass on the baton to cross the finish line. It means both are an important and equal contributor to your growth. Unite your energy and divide your responsibilities, this is how you win the race of life together.

One can make a huge difference by being bold, proactive, different and not waiting to be recognised. Once they project themselves in a better way it will give them visibility and make them believe about possibilities. If the vision is clear everyone has an equal opportunity to stand out and be the change. It is all about doing something different and creating a difference. You have got the liberty to live on your own terms. It's mostly about a collaborative effort, and the rest falls in place.

To be a man or a woman is just a very superficial thing.

We all are human beings.

  1. That's true! I totally agree with your thoughts. I think men and women are complementary to each other. No one can exist without the other. Great insightful post. Thanks for sharing.
